Hi to all,

I've downloaded the standalone demo version of Silhouettefx - I like call it simply Sil :) - and I'm trying to work. I have produced a jpg sequence 209 still frames from my NLE editor (Sony Vegas 5.0b).
When I import this seq in Sil, and after a new Session was created (as the manual said):

I can see only the first frame of it!

Is it a limitation of the demo or some trouble in my system?

Sil run in a genuine Intel 2.8 Ghz P4 PC with Windows XP SP2 operating system and a PNY Nvidia Quadro 600 FX.

Cheers from Rome - Italy, Max.

P.S. sorry for my bad english.

When you imported the media, did you check the "Import Sequence" option in the import dialog?

Did you adjust the Session duration to be the same duration as your sequence?

Hi Paulm,

Sure! "Import Sequence" checked (import all images sequence) and "Session duration" is the same of the duration of sequence (209 jpg files).
But I can see only the first frame of the sequence, the others are black screen.

Thank you, Max.

Hmmmmm.....

Are you sure all 209 JPEGs are all really JPEGs and contain data?

Yes, Paulm

I've opened and edited the sequence with differnts softwares such: Particle Illusion 3.1, Vegas 5.0, 3d Studio Max 3.1...each one work fine.

Thank you for your help. I want try Sil to buy it.

Max.

Hmm - weird. I test with JPEGs all the time.

Can you send your project to sfxsupport@silhouettefx.com?

Paulm,

I can. For your information I've produced differnts jpg seq with other softwares:

1) an animation with 3DS Max (25 jpg)

2) a seq with Particle Illusion (50 jpg)

3) still frames with Vegas (50 jpg).

Of course all in 720x576 Pal resolution. But only the first frame visible in Sil....

Tel me how I can send you my project...

Max.

Hi Perryk,

I tryed the 3 solution (manual, drag and release). Same result: only one frame.

So, Paulm, I must simple save the project and send it to you, or you need also the zipped jpg seq?

Thanx, Max.

Just send the project first.

Paulm wrote (in my private e-mail):

"Yep, it was as I thought. It seems it needs a DOT between the number
and the main part of the filename (which is common for image sequences).
Hopefully you have an easy way to do that. Also, it is better if the
sequences have padding (like 0001, 0002, 0003, etc).

I'll try to add a fix for this in the next release.

Sorry for the inconvenience."

So I produced a sequence with a dot after the name of files: name.0001.jpg...name.0050.jpg.

And now my demo version of Silhouette: WORK FINE!! :) :) :)

Cheers and a special thanks to Paul, Max.
