Pointer turns into square while editing

When I'm editing points the pointer turns into a square. What can I do about it? It gets in the way of my moving points and is certainly a distraction.

You must be on a Mac. This is a known problem.

Are you on Intel or PPC?

If you are running 2.3, you can use the Magnifier window to see where the point is going.

We have seen this on Mac's only and are looking for a way to fix it.
