Hello,

I am a paint/rotoscope artist at Sony Imageworks beta-testing Silhouette. I am having difficulty viewing 2k images at the proper resolution. They look very soft and the pixels are somewhat blurred. I've tried adjusting the display but still don't get the kind of sharpness I am used to in Matador and Combustion. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much.

If you're in the stand-alone, check to see if a proxy is being used. This control is located at the top center. It should read 1:1. Another possibility is limited graphics memory. Silhouette Roto likes to have 128 MByte cards or more for film resolution work.

Also, check the Console for the maximum texture size. If your graphics card only supports 1kx1k, then roto will scale the image down to that size for display.

Also, when you zoom in, it will use bilinear interpolation (unless you are using a float session), which could give the added appearance of softness.

noticed sometimes I get softness at irregular zoom levels. If you use the + and - keys to zoom, you will get 1.0, 2.0 etc which will be a more accurate display of the pixels.

It's the same in shake. If you're looking at a viewer zoomed 1.9:1 it will look a little odd compared to the same viewer locked at 2.0:1
