Hello,
I am trying to import media that doesn't start on frame 1, it begins on 148, in this case. Is there anyway I can force the frame plot to start at 148 as well?
Thanks so much!

hmmm... I'm not sure you can do this at the moment.
What I've been doing is importing the whole clip, then typing the start frame as 148. The end frame is user-definable, too. That would do what you want, but only if you have those frames at the head of your clip.
I think there are some bugs with rendering out the frames in terms of how a selected range is numbered when it comes out (although this may have been fixed?) - see adam's previous posts.
