stuck in output mode

anyone else ever get their app so wound up that it just gets stuck in output mode? i can't get back to foreground mode.

i click the button, it highlights and then does nothing. i fear i may have to bow out and come back in. one step forward, two steps back.

weird. i think this has happened before too.

Have you tried pressing the '2' key?

What do you mean exactly by getting "stuck"? Is the view menu disabled? Can you pick "foreground" from it but nothing happens? It isn't clear what the problem is.

i'd click the button to go back to foreground mode and i'd get no dropdown. i have not tried the 2 button but will consider it next time it happens. i think it's caused by doing too much too fast and essentially causing the app to have a minor cardiac arrest.

i will say though that aside from that, the app is pretty bullet proof and stubborn when it does fail or studder. i've never had it totally bail out on me and leave me staring at a shell.
