Hey,

I'm trying out your Product and the first Impresion is really good. I experienced that the VIEW-Dropdown (Toggles between BG,FG, Composite) does nothing for me inside roto. I've chosen a BG in AE and as far as I understand it, the BG should be visible inside roto while drawing masks. But that does not work.

Any hints on what is happening.

BTW: I try to do the famous "pleseantville-effect" as a test and my BG-Layer in AE is a desaturated Layer of my FG-Layer.

Hey Smeg - this is Lister. :-)

Do your FG/BG images happen to be different sizes?

If I understand you correctly, I had a similar issue on my machine with an older video card.

check your card for compatibilty against the list here:

Was your problem computer using a 900XGL?

I think I had the same problem with the view menu when I tried out the demo last week, but I put it down to me ploughing into things without reading the manual.

As far as I know the 900XGL chipset has pixel shader 1.1, is that not going to cut it?

No, the 900XGL doesn't have the newer shader version we use. For Quadro cards, it needs to be an "FX" class card.

I use an Alienware notebook with a Nvidia Quadro FX Go 1000 Video-Card. Pixelshader is Vers. 2.0

I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Can you send your AE project to sfxsupport@silhouettefx.com?

Does this just affect previewing? If so, would it be possible to introduce a stripped down preview for cards not running shader 2.0?

Yeah, just previewing of the alpha over the image. You can still see the alpha without shaders. No primary functionality is lost if you don't have shader 2.0.

As witht he other user we are running 2 copies of roto,
the one on my powerbook g4 works great, the one on the older G4 (ATI card with 64mb ram) only displays the matte not the overlay and the gamma control iosgrayed out. So my guiess is that its just an older video card.

Doesn't affect primary operation but i siuspect we will be looking at moving roto onto the spare G5...

best regards
