The standalone has support for JPEG (read only), Cineon, DPX (read only), OpenEXR, SGI/RGB, and TIFF.

I know I'm going to regret this, but does anyone have any MUST-HAVE formats they think the SA should support?

An SDK will be available (upon request) so custom formats can be written.

Hi,

What about Targa formats?

pict, PNG, IFF please. 2nd for Targa. Support for the Quicktime formats would be nice.

And actually, I've never seen it done in practice, but a huge boon to the Shake users would be for Roto to bake a DOD into IFF matte renders as Maya (apparently) has the ability to do. In theory, it would HIGHLY speed the import and workflow using those mattes with Shake.

I've seen rla/rpf/psd used as background images before. Not super concerned but might be a nice touch.

One thought might be to support the photoshop file import format (.8bi) as commotion did. That was cool, because if you ever needed support for a hard to find format like softimage .pic, you had to look no further than the goodies folder on your Photoshop disc.

But I think you have all the main ones covered for serious work.

Just use the quicktime engine and you're done... oh and IFF.

QuickTime isn't available on Linux, but we are planning a QuickTime module for movie formats.
