Hello..
I seem to unable to apply my tracking data to my splines. I have followed the instructions, but where I get stuck is when you're supposed press apply, but my apply button isn't active.. am I doing soemthing wrong?
Thanks, dasha.

since silhouette can parent trackers to shapes through the layering system, the days of applying trackers to shapes directly are effectively over. You more or less want to do this by applying a tracker to a layer and then putting the shape in the layer.
But you still might want to apply a tracker to a point. that's useful sometimes. and you CAN still apply trackers directly to the shapes as commotion did it, but like I said this is more or less obsolete.
Probably not the most intuitive way to do it, but just make sure the tracker tool is activated, and select the tracker you want to apply.
now click on the shape outline to select the shape you want to apply it to.
right click, and select "apply."
to do an individual point, select the points, then cntl-click the tracker, right click the points and click "apply."
it works, but they could probably make this process a little more intuitive.

Cool, that seems to work... still a bit confused about layers but your post was very helpful.
Thanks.

ah, it's fairly simple, really. Just think of a layer as an empty bank of transform keyframes (position, rotate, scale) that you can apply to any number of shapes without actually putting the keyframes on the shapes themselves, like applying a tracker directly will do. Because once you have all those keyframes applied to your shape, how are you supposed to edit it?
so layers are just a non-destructive way to apply a tracking move. it's nice!
