Any chance of getting a shape import for masks from SA into AE? I know the plugin version is the best option, but if you wanted to just convert them into splines and not have the SR editing features, just masks with keyframes. Similar to the Commotion Splines Import plugin?

This is certainly possible.

The question (for us) is whether we want to unbundle the conversion from the plugin, write an AE format exporter for the standalone, or something else.

So this section of the manual is talking about exporting the shapes from the SA to the plugin version of SR right or is this talking about what I was asking about - SR converting to AE masks?

To export Silhouette shapes to After Effects Masks:
Exporting Silhouette shapes to After Effects is an optional step and is only
necessary if for some reason you want to use After Effects’ masking tools.
1 Select the shapes that you want to export.
2 Choose File > Export > After Effects Masks.
When you exit Silhouette Roto and enter After Effects, the Silhouette shapes
are converted into After Effects Masks.

Also: is the export and save features something that reveal themselves in the full version? I'm still operating on a demo version :( and haven't found the either of these.

Thanks Paul.

Shape exporting is disabled in the demo version.

Exporting AE Masks is currently only available in the plug-in version.
