View Full Version : colouring specific points
would it be possible to have the ability add a specific colour, shape or number to an individual point in a spline. This feature would help reduce matte chatter by creating a reference point . gives you a visual lock down for your shape vs the image.
Hey I've noticed you have implimented a numbered points option in the prefs. It would be really cool if you could turn it on but instead of numbering all the points you could turn it on for specific points. (ie cu on face and its quite detailed and you'd like to be able to say, that point stays there - on the tip of the nose - and make it bright red(if youre working in black), that kind of thing, so you can lock it down throughout the duration of the shot - coz its different. having numbers on every point just adds to the chaos that most roto artists are trying to eliminate so thay can see the shot.
I would Love to have that seperate colored 'anchor' point feature, as well as seperate colors for each spline (ala commotion). It would also be nice to have a way of 'greying out' the splines or a least the ability to turn off the control points ( I know i8bozo has also asked for this).
Right now I'm working on a shot where bits of the element become the same color as the background, they lose their edge and might as well be part of the background, so I'm always animating the roto as I second guess where the edge is.
I'm always trying to reference between the shot and the spline. The more control I can have over the spline color and opacity the better.

There is a per-shape spline color you can change in the latest release.
For now, you can toggle off all of the shapes with the '0' (zero) key, which hides the overlays. I'll be adding a toggle so you can hide the control points in a future version.
