locking shapes status

hello guys,

just wondering where the conversation ended up on the topic of locking shapes so that they weren't selectable (at all).

as it happens, i like to work with multiple shapes visibly turned on so i can see how one shape interacts with another. i am finding it a little frustrating that i can accidentally select the *other* shape which takes me away from editing the shape i am working on.

i wasn't quite sure where this suggestion of locking a shape so that it could not be selected at all ended up. is that something that made it to the list of *to do's*?

I have submitted a feature request regarding locked shapes not being selectable. Paul will comment on whether doing this will conflict with anything else.

I think it'll need to be made a preference. Something like "doNotSelectLockedShapes" or something.

Marco and I talked and decided we can't think of a good reason NOT to make this the normal behavior.

Implemented (but no preference) in 1.0.6.
