I got an error message
Silhouette:
Open GL implementation does not support
rectangular or non-power-of-2 textures.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Runtime Error!
Silhouette.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the appication's support team for more information.
Does this mean my video card is wrong?
I have Asus A8V motherboard and AMD 64 3200+ CPU with 1 GB RAM

You will probably need to upgrade your video card, or at least the drivers first. You didn't list your card, but it probably doesn't have the texture support Silhouette needs.

I'm trying to determine the near-best card to buy without breaking the bank.

But trying to get sub-pixel shading info or whatever I need is elusive.
Any recommendations?

A 256MB card is preferred for film work. You can get the 7800 GT (the card I use), which is much cheaper than the GTX, and almost as fast, or even a 256MB 6800 series.

Graphic cards that support pixel shaders are preferred I notice.
- Not that I have any idea what a pixel shader is, mind you. I'm still just a bit confused by the numbering system of the cards.
Bigger doesn't seem to always be better.
No real question here, I guess.
Thanks for your suggestion.
